It is said that “a people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.”  Now, when we look at history as a subject, we think it as number of historical events compiled together. Indeed, History is the compilation of important events happened in the past but these events continue to remain important in present days. In this class we will study some of those events and will try to relate our present as how they were related them.

In this course we will learn about the modern Indian History and will try to look at various events which made our country into a western colony. We will see the condition of our society and economy before the arrival of Britishers and when they became our colonial masters. We will study about Indian freedom struggle and all the important leaders and their contributions to make us free.
