Classification of Elements and Periodicity in Properties
- In this lesson we ‘first know why do we need to classify elements ?’ . Then we discuss about genesis of periodic classification through Dobereiner Triads, Law of Octaves, Mendeleev law of periodic table and about the Modern Periodic Table. Then we learn nomenclature of elements with atomic numbers > 100. Then we study about electronic configuration of elements and the periodic table, types of elements s-, p-, d-, f- Blocks, metals, non-metals and metalloids. Finally we learn about periodic trends in properties of elements(physical properties and chemical properties), periodic trends and chemical reactivity.
