In this chapter we learn about general characteristics of solid state. Then we learn about amorphous and crystalline solids, then classification of crystalline solids. Then we know about crystal lattices and unit cells, numbers of atoms in a unit cell, close packed structures. Then we know about packing efficiency, calculations involving unit cell dimensions. Then we study about the imperfection in solids. Finally we know the electrical properties and magnetic properties of solids.
